Data & Analytics Engineer

Our client, a leading international company operating in the Medical Device sector is currently looking for a Data & Analytics Engineer based in Basel, Switzerland.

Your Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and operate the organization’s global Business Intelligence infrastructure using Microsoft technologies (MS Azure, Data Factory, DevOps with GIT version control, Power Platform including Power BI)
• Contribute to the implementation of innovative technologies and support efforts to harmonize BI tools and processes across the organization

Key Areas:

Data Engineering

• Manage version control and deployment of a global data platform using MS DevOps and GIT
• Build and refine data pipelines to integrate new data sources and optimize or troubleshoot existing ELT processes using SQL (SQL Server Management Studio, Visual Studio Code) and Microsoft Data Factory

Data Modelling

• Design and maintain data models from both existing and newly integrated sources to ensure data accuracy and relevance for reporting purposes

Technical Strategy

• Contribute to the long-term design and architecture of the organization’s analytical capabilities

Optimization

• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, enhancing scalability, flexibility, and cost-efficiency of data infrastructure

Collaboration

• Work closely with BI leadership and key stakeholders in finance and reporting to align on strategic, data-driven initiatives

Your Profile:

• 2–3 years of experience in a data and analytics role, ideally within cloud-based environments
• Solid knowledge of database management and data modelling techniques
• Proficiency in managing ELT processes and a strong understanding of diverse data sources
• Experience with SQL development
• Power BI experience is a plus, especially in data modelling and DAX
• Familiarity with financial and controlling data is advantageous
• Strong collaboration skills across cross-functional and international teams
• Fluency in English is required; knowledge of German or other languages is a plus
