Automation Engineer (MES)

Location: Zurich
Duration: 6 month contract (with possible extension) 

Your Responsibilities

As part of our clients Engineering division, we’re seeking a Project Manager Automation to support the team. You will contribute to the advancement of process automation and data management, collaborating closely with colleagues from various divisions, including Automation Group and Production & Process Engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

• Overseeing data management, databases, software, and business applications within the production environment.
• Managing interfaces and integration of production data management, MES, and ERP systems.
• Developing, implementing, and managing business applications, software solutions, and databases to optimize existing production processes.
• Leading project management for significant projects related to innovative applications, software solutions, and data management systems, ensuring timely and budget-compliant completion.
• Documenting completed projects within the integrated applications and software solutions domain.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in similar roles
• Degree in computer science, automation and/or software development
• Proficiency in IT solutions, particularly with advanced experience in MES and ERP systems (preferably SAP).
• Strong knowledge of database systems (e.g., MSSQL, ODBC, MS Access, etc.).
• Familiarity with programming languages such as C# and .Net is a plus
• Extensive experience in managing development and integration projects in automation, databases, and MES systems.
