Company: Global clinical-stage Biotech company, now part of a multinational Healthcare organization.
This leadership position plays a central role in advancing clinical development strategies for therapies targeting rare diseases with high unmet need. Reporting directly to the Head of Clinical Development, the Senior Medical Director is responsible for the strategic design, execution, and oversight of clinical trials. The role requires close collaboration across cross-functional teams and with external stakeholders to ensure high-quality data, patient safety, and successful regulatory engagement.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement clinical development plans and trial protocols.
• Lead trial execution oversight, including safety monitoring and data review.
• Prepare critical study documents: protocols, analysis plans, and regulatory submissions.
• Engage with regulators and external collaborators (e.g., investigators, CROs).
• Support medical communications, publications, and scientific outreach.

Requirements

• Advanced degree (MD, PhD, or PharmD) with 8+ years in clinical drug development.
• Experience in global, registration-focused trials; rare disease and pediatric experience preferred.
• Solid knowledge of therapeutic areas, clinical research methods, and regulatory standards.
• Track record of collaboration with regulatory bodies and oversight of CROs.
• Preferably board-certified in GI-related or internal medicine specialties.
